Science
Our big idea in science is Earth in Space and Time. Students will learn the humans continue to explore Earth's place in space. Gravity and energy influence the formation of galaxies, including our own Milky Way Galaxy, stars, the Solar System, and Earth. Humankind's need to explore continues to lead to the development of knowledge and understanding of our Solar System.
Our recent trip to MOSI tied into all of the science units for the year! The kids had a great time exploring the museum. A special thanks to the parents who were able to chaperone for this wonderful adventure.

MathCurrently we are in topic 7 out of 16 in math. In this topic, students will develop an understanding of interpeting and representing data. The standards covered in this unit are as follows:
Standards 3.MD.2.3 Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets. MP.6.1 Attend to precision. |
